Crystal/Stone of the Month: JULY - Smoky Quartz Crystal



Inspired by my Smoky Quartz Crystal Cluster:


From the deepest depth of the Sea was my beginnings
Then I rose to the Earth but still in darkness
Light is able to reflect and come inside of me

Smoky Quartz Crystal Properties and Healing:

This crystal is a specific variety of crystalline mineral quartz which hardens and crystallizes with small particles of different elements that can get trapped inside.  With the smoky quartz those elements are trace amounts of lithium and aluminum which gives the crystal’s smoky appearance.  This crystal is normally found in places like Brazil, parts of Africa, Scotland and the state of Colorado.  This crystal is the chosen stone for the Druids which was used for their scared ceremonies and rituals believing that it will guide souls to the afterlife and keep evil spirits away.


Like other dark-colored crystals the smoky quartz is incredibly grounding especially for spiritual work or meditating.  It also encourages a deeper connection to the Earth, supports feelings of peace/calm and helps work through personal fears.  It protects like a shield against unwanted negative energy, clearing even the old energy to create new space for a more positive energy to flutter in.  It reignites one’s passion when feeling stuck or stagnant, so using it for meditation will help get back that lost passion in one’s life.  When used in meditation it helps balance the Root Chakra, for your connecting to the Earth and it can also be used for your home’s energy balance and protection.  It has also been used for Ritual Baths and for the deep inner work called Shadow Work that goes into working through past traumas and/or inner pain of darkness.  The smoky quarts is also used for divination work with the inner wisdom and manifesting practices.  (Go to the the website listed for their complete newsletter)

There are lighter and darker shades that some mention the differences it may have like this website listed above.  The darker smoky quartz will help when there is more grounding work required and works well when the Root Chakra is out of balance.  The lighter smoky quartz is great for meditation and working the Solar Plexus Chakra, to help you go subtly inwards for a calming understanding of one’s fears as well when inner guidance is required.

               When there is a crisis going on in the world, we look around to figure out what is going on.  Who can we put the blame on so we can build up our hatred and disapproval.   The real answers lie within all of us and ALL  of us are to blame.  We feed others with our negative thoughts and words.  There is the pointing of the fingers but no one points at themselves, just complaining about what the standards of protection are, the inconvenience brings, how we feel trapped, etc., but some have not tried to see how to contribute to find a solution.  It's amazing the ones that cry and complain the most are the one's that seem to be more of the problem then the solution.  There is a continuous hatred among all of us (myself included) for none are excluded, (there are very few humbled souls but unfortunately they are the minority) not even those that consider themselves the victims.   Even in th...
